Your skin problems may be caused by inflammation

Today more and more people are aware of the health challenges caused by inflammation and seek out anti-inflammatory products and ingredients to improve their overall health and wellness. As our largest organ, skin is no different. Inflammation can lead to a host of skin problems, including acne, eczema, rosacea, enlarged pores, and redness.

Fortunately, there are several ways to combat inflammation in the skin, including incorporating anti-inflammatory ingredients into your skincare routine. In this blog post, we’ll explore some of the best anti-inflammatory ingredients for your skin, so you know what to look for when choosing skincare products.

Turmeric

Whether you are looking to reduce inflammation in your body or in your skin, this is my favorite natural anti-inflammatory ingredient of all time. Turmeric is a spice that has been used for centuries in Ayurvedic medicine for its anti-inflammatory properties. Turmeric contains curcumin, which has been shown to reduce inflammation in the skin. I know I am biased, but if you are looking for skincare products formulated with Turmeric, nothing can beat the effectiveness of Kalaia’s Keep Smooth - Day & Night Serum. Experience the instant benefits of this skin soothing ingredient and the natural glow it gives your skin is the icing on top.

 Chamomile

Chamomile is a popular ingredient in skincare products because of its anti-inflammatory and soothing properties. Chamomile can help reduce redness, inflammation, and irritation in the skin, making it a great ingredient for those with sensitive or acne-prone skin. Chamomile can be found in a variety of skincare products, including toners, cleansers, and moisturizers.

Green Tea

Another one of my favorite ingredients! Green tea contains antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce inflammation in the skin. Green tea can help reduce redness and irritation, making it a great ingredient for those with acne-prone or sensitive skin. Green tea can be found in several Kalaia products, including the Keep Smooth - Day & Night Serum.

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is another popular anti-inflammatory ingredient that has been used for centuries to soothe and heal the skin. Aloe vera contains compounds that help reduce inflammation and promote healing, making it a great ingredient for those with sunburns, eczema, or rosacea. Aloe vera can be found in gels, lotions, and even face masks. At Kalaia we use Aloe vera in our Hold Tight - Overnight Moisturizer as well as the Keep Smooth - Day & Night Serum.

Omega-3 Fatty Acids

Although we don’t use Omega-3 fatty acids in Kalaia products since all of our products are vegan, it is an ingredient with lot of skin benefits. Omega-3 fatty acids, found in fatty fish like salmon and in supplements, have anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce inflammation in the skin. Omega-3 fatty acids can also help improve skin hydration and elasticity, making it a great ingredient for those with dry or aging skin.

Here's my story: In 2017 I had horrible cystic acne, this is caused by a bacterial inflamation in the sebaceous glands which mostly are dead skin mixed with oil so these glands get clogged and causes horrible cysts. I went to a dermatologist was on lots of medications topical and internal for a year and nothing worked. Finally I had to see a plastic surgeon and have the cyst cut off. 8 stitches on one side of my nose and 6 on the other. After this experience I started really paying attention to the chemicals that are in our skin care and makeup and decided I had to make a change. I found Kalaia year-and-a-half ago and never look back... It's truly healed my skin, look closely you can barely see the scars anymore.

If you struggle with acne, eczema, rosacea, enlarged pores, and redness, chances are your skin can benefit from some anti-inflammatory ingredients. Turmeric, chamomile, aloe vera, green tea, and omega-3 fatty acids are just a few of the many anti-inflammatory ingredients available in skincare products. By choosing products that contain these ingredients, you can certainly improve the health and wellness of your skin.
